Getting to North Cyprus
As Northern Cyprus remains unrecognized by most of the international community, there are no direct flights from Europe. However, this is not really a problem as the charter companies briefly touch down in Turkey before proceeding to Ercan, the airport located a few miles to the east of Nicosia. In addition, there are regular flights by Cyprus Turkish Airlines and Turkish Airlines between Ercan and all the major airports in Turkey, which are linked by the international carriers to most destinations in Europe.
There are flights to Northern Cyprus from Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester.
It is also possible to fly to Larnaca in the South of Cyprus and travel by taxi through the border into Northern Cyprus, (takes about 2.5 hours to get to the villa). Airlines flying between the UK and Cyprus include British Airways, Monarch, Easyjet and Cyprus Airways.
When speaking to the car hire company ask them to collect you directly from Larnaca Airport. They will arrange taxi collection from Larnaca take you through the border and either take you to the hire car office or directly to the villa and then deliver your hire car(s) to the villa. Total journey time from Larnaca to the villa is about 2.5 hours.
